Chris Hall is the CEO of the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce. Hall has served as CEO since January of 2013; prior to then he was the Senior Vice President of the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce for six years, leading the organization’s governmental affairs work at the local, state and federal levels.
Hall’s community engagement is diverse, including serving as the Chair of Educate Maine, as a member of the Board of the Greater Portland Convention and Visitors Bureau, and as member of Greater Portland United Way’s Community-wide Goal Setting Council. Hall has been a member of the University of Southern Maine’s Metropolitan University Steering Committee and a member of the Advisory Committee to the Maine Center for Graduate Studies. Hall is a member of the Board of Growing Portland, Portland ConnectED and Portland’s Economic Development and Vision implementation team. He also serves as an advisor to many private and non-profit leaders.
Hall previously worked at the Maine State Chamber of Commerce for 17 years as Senior Vice President and General Council. His work on behalf of the business community included every aspect of State House policy, including tax, environmental and economic development advocacy.
In 1986 Hall graduated from Boston University School of Law and was admitted to the bar in Maine where he worked in private practice for several years. A Bowdoin College graduate and a New York native, Hall lives in Portland Maine. He has two adult children.
