South Portland's first Fit'n Fun-athon Sept. 19 will promote healthier lifestyle and raise funds
South Portland Chamber member, Evergreen Credit Union (799 Broadway) announces a new family-friendly event on September 19 from 11 am to 2 pm at Skillin Elementary School in South Portland. The Fit ‘n Fun-athon, co-sponsored by the Portland Regional Chamber, offers participants of all ages the challenge and fun of competing in various events, while learning more about healthier lifestyles. The organizers are working with local businesses, along with students and volunteers. Events for all ages, information on getting fit, plus a food court with healthier food options, will be available. All net proceeds will be donated by Evergreen Credit Union to local food charities in Cumberland County through the Ending Hunger in Maine Campaign administered by the Maine Credit Union League.

He was a loyal chamber member for many years and a regular participant at our events. Shep won the Robert R. Masterton Award for leadership in economic development in 2003. The Chamber extends our sympathy to his family, and we will fondly remember Shep for steadfastly demonstrating unparalleld ethics and being a tremendous contributor to make our region a better place.
