Business Spotlight on Verizon Wireless

Many of today's most successful businesses are leveraging mobility as a competitive advantage. Entrepreneurs are always on the go: making connections, visiting leads, recruiting talent, managing resources and growing the business all while staying connected. As technology continues to evolve in the business world, it’s increasingly important to have reliable, innovative technology partners for consultation and support.

Verizon Wireless has the solutions and services to support your business both in the office and on the road. The company has aggressively expanded Long Term Evolution (LTE) coverage across Maine. In the past 10 months, Verizon Wireless has launched its 4G LTE network in the Greater Portland area and seacoast, Augusta, Waterville, Lewiston, Auburn, the Bangor Metropolitan Area, and most recently Presque Isle and the surrounding communities.

With business-to-business sales executives headquartered in South Portland serving companies throughout the region, and locally based teams supporting government, non-profit and healthcare sectors, Verizon Wireless services and support are always near. The company recently completed more than $1.6 million in upgrades to its Bangor Customer Care Center to provide an even better customer support experience.

Each year, Verizon Wireless partners with non-profit organizations that focus on supporting survivors of domestic violence. Through its HopeLine phone recycling program, the company has provided more than $18.1 million in cash grants, as well as 151,000 HopeLine phones with free airtime, to domestic violence prevention programs across the country, including several agencies in Maine. Recently, the company partnered with the Maine Coalition to End Domestic Violence to produce Public Service Announcements highlighting resources and toll-free hotlines for victims of domestic abuse.

Membership Update from Russell Voss, Head of the SP/CE Membership Committee
April typically means the return of longer days and the return of our feathered friends…Apparently; the beginning of this April means more wintery-mix!  In the spirit of the spring months I want to provide a brief update on Member Appreciation Day (which following a significant snowstorm was very sunny) and the success we once again can report!

First, I would like to say a very big THANK YOU to those tireless volunteers who braved the elements, helped stage, and deliver MAD bags for the South Portland / Cape Elizabeth community members.  We even had a volunteer from NH this year!  We also had several volunteers who were truly adventurous… they helped stage and deliver!

I am happy to report that we delivered nearly 200 membership bags throughout South Portland / Cape Elizabeth safely, with smiling faces starting March 18th with most deliveries taking place on March 21st prior to attending the regional BAH.  Again, a big thank you to our volunteers for their dedication to MAD and all year!
