Greater Portland Business Community to Celebrate Local Businesses PROPEL and Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce to Announce New Tool to PROPEL Maine’s Future PORTLAND, Maine (May 23, 2017) — Hundreds from the Greater Portland business community will gather at Thompson’s Point on Thursday, June 29 for The Ignition Awards, a brand new oceanside awards ceremony hosted by PROPEL and the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce to honor local businesses who truly stand out from the crowd. Nominations are being accepted for awards in the Small Business Division, including, “Hustler of the Year”, “Social Entrepreneurship,” and a “Startup focusing on International Trade,” as well as in the Large Business Division, including “Social Entrepreneurship” and “Growth Stimulation.” After tasting a complimentary item from several competing food trucks, attendees will also have the chance to cast their vote live for Food Truck of the Year. “This event is represents a great opportunity to bridge the gap between young professionals and more established business persons,” remarked Ignition Awards Chair and PROPEL board member Rebecca Bolduc. “We are focused on propelling Maine’s future through our three pillars: Network, Develop and Live, right here in Maine.
