Scarborough Community Chamber
Scarborough, situated on the coast seven miles southwest of Portland, is a pleasant commuter town with a thriving business community. Within Scarborough, you’ll find the Maine Audubon Nature Center and conservation lands such as the Fuller Farm, the Broadturn Farm, the Eastern Trail, and The Spurwink River Division of the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge.  The scenic 3,100 acre Scarborough Salt Marsh is Maine’s largest salt water marsh.  Our 70 square miles include some of Maine’s finest beaches and shoreline, golf courses, recreational opportunities and world-class shopping locations.  Located with a I-95/Maine Turnpike exit we are only minutes from the Portland International Jetport, the Maine Mall and downtown Portland.  Boston is only 90 miles to the south.  Maine's first governor, William King was born here and the internationally respected artist, Winslow Homer, painted many of his best known works at Prout’s Neck in Scarborough.
