Portland, ME – The Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce (PRC) is pleased to announce that Asha Echeverria of Bernstein Shur was elected as the new Chair of the Chamber's Regional Board of Directors.
The Chamber supports regional businesses through professional development, marketing, business building, and advocacy efforts. It is an organization dedicated to helping link people and organizations together, and it provides a strong voice to advocate for the region’s professional community at both the local and state level. “I’m looking forward to working with the Board and staff to meet the challenges of not only the Chamber itself during these difficult times but providing strong advocacy efforts on behalf of our members and serving their business interests,” said Echeverria. “I’m especially proud of the recent racial diversity and equity efforts of the Chamber and maintaining momentum for this important work.” “Asha has been an incredible addition to our board for the last 8 years she has served as a director," said Quincy Hentzel, President and CEO of the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce. "Asha has devoted countless hours supporting the Chamber as we identify and reach our strategic goals and I am looking forward to working with her in her new role to bring our members, and the Greater Portland community, events, offerings, and resources of the highest value, especially as we all continue to navigate the impact of the pandemic on our businesses and economy." Echeverria is the Chair of Bernstein Shur’s Construction Practice Group and specializes in dispute resolution involving construction, energy, insurance, and banking claims. Echeverria is also a licensed professional engineer, with LEED accreditation and years of experience designing and coordinating multi-million-dollar projects as a civil engineer with Parsons Brinckerhoff. Her firsthand experience with construction and energy projects makes her an especially effective advocate in litigation matters and contract negotiations spanning those fields. Echeverria is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America ®2021 for Construction Law and is rated AV-Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell.
