Final Community Collection drive of season seeks books PORTLAND, ME – January 31, 2020 – The Mariners “Community Collection” program will feature a book drive for Ronald McDonald House® Charities of Maine at all home games in the months of February and March. Fans who bring three or more new or gently used books to the Promotions Port at a Mariners game will receive a ticket voucher to a future weekday game or a 2020-21 game, starting with donations made at the game on March 14th.

Home games on Feb 7th, 8th, and 9th center on charities PORTLAND, ME – January 30, 2020 – It’s the second “3kend” of the season, coming up next weekend as the Maine Mariners host home contests on February 7th, 8th, and 9th, in what is the “Giving 3kend,” sponsored by Three Dollar Deweys. The Mariners will host the Worcester Railers and Brampton Beast in a busy weekend at the Cross Insurance Arena.
Dustin Lee, Parts Manager of Lee Auto has created a unique and valuable internship opportunity for Portland High
School students. Through Lee, students have the opportunity to intern in the service department learning skills such as changing and torquing tires, changing oil, checking tire pressure, rotating tires, and working with breaks and spark plugs. Lee is the only auto shop that currently partners with Portland High School, providing an invaluable experience for students. Students work directly with service staff members and gain one on one mentorship in the field. ELLSWORTH & PORTLAND--Graduating seniors from Maine high schools who are National FFA (Future Farmers of America) Organization members and interested in pursuing a career in farming, agriculture, or natural resources are invited to apply for a Ronald P. Guerrette FFA Scholarship through the Maine Community Foundation.

Mariners will wear jerseys designed by a Make-A-Wish kid PORTLAND, ME – January 22, 2020 – On February 1st, for their game against the Adirondack Thunder, the Mariners will wear a special jersey, designed by Ellie LaBree, a ten year old girl with a rare cancer. Ellie won a contest against fellow Make-A-Wish Maine “Wish Kids,” who submitted jerseys designs this past fall.

The three-year $250,000 award will fund “Charting Your Course,” a joint program helping low income immigrant women build pathways to financial security through personal empowerment and financial education.
