PORTLAND, ME – June 30, 2020 – The Maine Mariners announced on Wednesday that they have raised $3700 for local COVID-19 relief efforts, a dollar figure that will continue to be added to. So far, funds have been raised through a pair of exclusive jersey auctions and a t-shirt sale.

PORTLAND, ME – June 29, 2020 – Last August, Ted Hart signed his first professional contract with his “hometown” team, hoping to become the first Maine-born player to suit up in a regular season game for the Mariners. Although he didn’t make his ECHL debut until November, the Cumberland native played in 48 of the Mariners’ 62 games in 2019-20, enjoying a productive rookie season. On Monday, the Mariners announced the re-signing of Hart, making him the second player on the 2020-21 roster.

PORTLAND, ME – June 22, 2020 – The Mariners announced their first player signing for 2020-21 on Monday, bringing back forward Dillan Fox for his third season in Maine. Fox had a breakout season in 2019-20, tying for the team lead in goals and reaching the AHL for the first time in his career.

(Portland, ME) June 19, 2020 - United Way of Greater Portland individual giving group Brick & Beam Society announced investments of $26,500 to support summer-focused programs and projects that target early childhood learning and STEM programming for  children in pre-school through 8th grade. Programs were selected based on their level of impact, sustainability, being replicable, and for taking innovative, holistic, and collaborative approaches to learning.   

Richmond, Ky., June 18, 2020 — James Mangini, RLLD, will join the Association for Linen Management (ALM) Board of Directors at the end of June. Mangini has been a long time member of ALM, and succeeds Rich Bott, RLLD, CLLM, as president-elect as Bott moves into the role of president. PORTLAND, Maine – Coffee By Design has extended the deadline for applications for its Rebel Blend Fund Grant. The Rebel Blend Fund has awarded art grants to projects in Maine for 22 years. Since its launch, Coffee By Design has contributed over $95,000 to Maine non-profits arts organizations. 

PORTLAND, ME – June 16, 2020 – The Maine Mariners released their season-ending roster for 2019-20 on Tuesday, protecting the rights of 17 players between now and July 1st. The season-ending roster is the second phase in the three step process of protecting players’ rights, the first being the initial protected list, and the final being qualifying offers.

Sebago Clean Waters (SCW) made great strides toward meeting its goal of conserving 35,000 acres of Sebago-area forestland on June 15th when The Conservation Fund, a national environmental non-profit with a field office in Freeport, announced its purchase of 15,408 acres from Chadbourne Tree Farms in Western Maine.
