Kate McAleer (founder, Bixby & Co.), Becky McKinnell (founder, iBec Creative) and Rich Peterson (president, MaineHealth and CEO, Maine Medical Center) will help judge this year’s competition. 
​GORHAM, Maine, February 28, 2020 — Gorham Savings Bank will begin accepting applications on March 1 for its eighth annual LaunchPad small business competition. In the competition, the premier event of its type in Maine, promising small businesses will compete for a $50,000 grant from the bank.

Kelly Cup tour stops at Cross Insurance Arena March 1st
​PORTLAND, ME – February 25, 2020 – The “holy grail” of the ECHL, the Kelly Cup, will make an appearance at the Cross Insurance Arena this Sunday, March 1st for the Mariners game against the South Carolina Stingrays at 3 PM. The Kelly Cup is the league’s championship trophy, awarded to the winner of the postseason tournament each year since 1997.

Award winner will be revealed at Mariners game on March 1st
​PORTLAND, ME – February 21, 2020 – The finalists have been revealed for the Captain Joel Barnes Community Service Award, which will be handed out at the Mariners game vs. the South Carolina Stingrays on March 1st: the one year anniversary of Captain Barnes’ tragic passing. The award was created in October by a partnership between the Mariners, Teamsters Local 340 and the Berwick Firefighters Association.

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine (February 20, 2020) -- Families and friends in South Portland were left without bowling last year when Easy Day Bowling Center on Broadway closed. Sea Dog Brewing took the opportunity to try something new and converted Easy Day into the second Sea Dog Brewpub in South Portland. The 10 bowling lanes have remained alongside the dining service and full kitchen of Sea Dog Brewpub.

​Bar Harbor, Maine – Bar Harbor Bank & Trust recently presented donations totaling more than $9,000 to local non-profits from its employee-driven charitable giving program, Casual for a Cause. The program pools employee contributions collected each quarter and distributes them to non-profits selected by and voted on by the employees. The recipients of the Q4 2019 contributions are: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bath/Brunswick; Emmaus Homeless Shelter; Upper Valley Habitat for Humanity; and Girls on the Run Vermont.

Mariners will wear Team USA inspired jerseys, screen postgame movie
PORTLAND, ME – February 14, 2020 – It’s been 40 years since the 1980 United States Olympic men’s ice hockey team pulled off the “Miracle on Ice,” defeating the Soviet Union on their way capturing the gold medal in Lake Placid, New York. Forty years and one day later, the Mariners will commemorate what many consider the greatest moment in the history of hockey and all of American sports. Sunday, February 23rd is “Miracle Night,” as the Mariners host the Newfoundland Growlers at 3 PM at the Cross Insurance Arena.

Viewers Using Antennas Will Need to Rescan TVs ​
PORTLAND, ME – NEWS CENTER Maine on WCSH announced today that it is moving frequencies on March 11, 2020 at 7:00 a.m. and viewers who watch TV for free with an over-the-air antenna must rescan their TVs to continue watching the station. Rescanning is when a TV finds all the available channels in an area.
