Sea Dog cut the ribbon to their second location in South Portland on Tuesday
SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine (February 20, 2020) -- Families and friends in South Portland were left without bowling last year when Easy Day Bowling Center on Broadway closed. Sea Dog Brewing took the opportunity to try something new and converted Easy Day into the second Sea Dog Brewpub in South Portland. The 10 bowling lanes have remained alongside the dining service and full kitchen of Sea Dog Brewpub.

After major renovation, the space is naturally partitioned into a bowling area, a bar area, and a dining area. You are never too far from bowling but can enjoy a meal without being disturbed by the sounds and excitement of the lanes.

“One thing people don’t talk about a lot is that breweries have been creating family-friendly spaces around the state, so I think this is a great way to continue that forward and build on the heritage brand,” commented Maine Brewers’ Guild Executive Director Sean Sullivan at Tuesday’s ribbon-cutting.

Founder of Shipyard Brewing Fred Forsley, Executive Director of the Institute for Family-Owned Business Catherine Fossett, and Ed Palmer, General Manager at Portland Sheraton at Sable Oaks joined the Sea Dog family to cut the ribbon on Tuesday morning. South Portland Mayor Kate Lewis welcomed Sea Dog, “to this side of the city,” alluding to their other South Portland location on Western Ave.

The menu is all-new, designed specifically for this location. It will include bar bites, sandwiches and salads, pub plates, burgers, and pizza. Choices range from pub classics like fish and chips to more eclectic fare such as El Lomito sandwiches. Seadog brewing’s handcrafted brews, including their signature Blueberry ale, will be on tap.

With riverside views and outdoor seating, the brewpub will be a comfortable location for outings in every season. Happy hour will run from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. The brewpub, including bowling and dining service, will be open daily at 10:00 a.m.

“The spirit and feeling last night was great. People were bowling, kids were running around, and there were older people here, just loving the place. It brings to life everyone's hard work,” said Fred Forsley, describing the friends and family opening before cutting the ribbon.
