Fans can collect eight giveaway items in 2019-20
PORTLAND, ME – June 28, 2019 – The Mariners have announced their list of promotional giveaways for the 2019-20 season. Eight items are scheduled to be given away over the course of the season. The Mariners will release the full promotional schedule in mid-July.

Second season begins with home opener October 11th
PORTLAND, ME – June 13, 2019 – The Maine Mariners, along with the ECHL released the full schedule for the 2019-20 season on Thursday. The Mariners will begin the season at home on Friday, October 11th against the Adirondack Thunder at the Cross Insurance Arena and will play 36 home games at the Cross Insurance Arena against nine different opponents, two of which they did not play in 2018-19. The Mariners posted a 22-12-1-1 record on home ice last season, the third best mark in the North Division, and the fifth best in the Eastern Conference. The regular season home finale is March 29th against the Worcester Railers and the final game of the regular season is Sunday, April 5th at Worcester.
Murphy dealt to Wheeling completing Couturier trade
PORTLAND, ME – June 12, 2019 – The Mariners completed a future considerations trade on Wednesday, sending the rights of forward Wade Murphy to the Wheeling Nailers. The move completes the February 12th deal in which the Mariners acquired defenseman Josh Couturier from the Nailers.
Activates emergency operations center and new emergency shelter at Portland Expo
PORTLAND, Maine -- The City of Portland, in response to an influx in asylum seekers from the southern US border, has activated an emergency operations center and additional emergency shelter at the Portland Expo. Since Sunday, June 9, the City has received roughly 100 new asylum seekers, which caused the City to reach capacity at its Family Shelter and overflow spaces. The City is expecting several hundred additional asylum seekers to arrive over the next few days and weeks. The Expo will be used for shelter operations beginning the evening of Wednesday, June 12.
Mariners acquire Kalk’s rights from Wichita, Knutson’s sent to Kansas City
PORTLAND, ME – June 4, 2019 – The Maine Mariners completed two future considerations trades on Tuesday, acquiring the ECHL rights of forward Corey Kalk from the Wichita Thunder, while sending forward Zeb Knutson’s rights to the Kansas City Mavericks.
Fans will get chance to meet first members of 2019-20 team
PORTLAND, ME – June 6, 2019 – With the Newfoundland Growlers winning the 2018-19 Kelly Cup on Tuesday, the ECHL calendar has officially flipped to 2019-20. The Mariners are holding two public meet and greet events in the month of June to give fans a first look at the early stages of the 2019-20 team as they prepare for their second ECHL season.

Fans can choose between Flyers, Bruins throwback
PORTLAND, ME – June 4, 2019 – As part of an initiative to give fans a say in various promotions for their second ECHL season, the Maine Mariners are holding a vote to determine the throwback jersey that the team will wear for one home game during the 2019-20 season. In an online poll, fans can choose between the home white jersey of the Philadelphia Flyers and New Jersey Devils AHL-affiliated Mariners or that of the Boston Bruins iteration that used the same logo, but with the Bruins color scheme.
Protected List includes 25 players
PORTLAND, ME – June 3, 2019 – The Maine Mariners released their 2019 Protected List on Monday, containing names of 25 players that signed a SPC with the Mariners in 2018-19. The Protected List includes 14 forwards, 9 defensemen, and 2 goaltenders. The full list is as follows:
