Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce announces Governor Janet Mills as Eggs & Issues Speaker6/4/2019 Portland, Maine - The Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce Governor Janet Mills as the June Eggs & Issues keynote speaker. Mills was sworn in as the 75th Governor of Maine and is the 1st women to serve as governor in the state’s history.
Prior to her role as governor, Mills served as the Attorney General of Maine, Assistant Attorney General and District Attorney for Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford Counties. “The Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce is very fortunate to feature Governor Mills as our keynote speaker for June,” said Quincy Hentzel, Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce CEO. “Following a rich tradition of former governors, senators and members of congress who have spoken previously at Eggs & Issues, we anticipate over 500 attendees to hear from the Governor and specifically about her priorities and vision for her administration and the future of the state.” As governor, Mills has made affordable, high-quality health care, access to good-paying jobs and a strong economy in all parts of the state the focus of her administration. Mills hopes Maine is the place where families can take root, raise their kids, and have access to world-class education. “In October 2018, all four candidates attended the special candidate forum at Eggs & Issues. Each candidate vowed, should they be elected, to attend and be featured as the June 2019 keynote speaker. True to her word, Governor Janet Mills will be helping us wrap up our 2018-19 Eggs & Issues season!” said Jack Lufkin, NBT Bank and Portland Community Chamber of Commerce President.
