Maine Food for Thought – Partnering with Businesses as a Resource for Workforce Attraction and Retention Efforts
Maine Food for Thought provides public educational food tour experiences that reveal the distinctive stories of Maine's unique food system and the social, economic, and environmental connections. This year, they have developed opportunities to partner with Maine businesses to serve as a resource for their recruitment and retention efforts.
Mainebiz launched its Women to Watch award recognition program as a way to bring attention to top-notch women executives, women whose daily work strengthens their organizations and by extension, Maine's economy. Now, after 10 years, Mainebiz has honored 50 women, including this year's newest honorees.
On Tuesday, September 17th, Mainebiz will be celebrating these inspirational leaders at the 2019 Mainebiz Women to Watch Reception. This year’s honorees are: Mary Allen Lindemann, co-founder of Coffee By Design; Betsy Biemann, CEO of Coastal Enterprises Inc.; Kim Swan, president of The Swan Agency Sotheby’s International Realty and Swan Hospitality Group; and Liz Cotter Schlax, President and CEO of United Way of Greater Portland.
