Premium Indoor Cycling Studio Offers Unique Fitness Experience;
Hosts Two Weeks of Free Rides to Celebrate Opening in Portland
PORTLAND, Maine. (July 30, 2019)– CycleBar, the first and only premier indoor cycling franchise, is opening its first Maine studio in Portland on August 26 and will offer a fun and inspiring low-impact/high-intensity cycling experience for all ages and body types. No matter where people are in their fitness journey, the CycleBar class experience promises to calm minds, elevate moods and revive senses by providing the ride of a lifetime in an exhilarating state-of-the-art CycleTheatre®.
Called CycleBar Portland, the studio, located at 82 Hanover St., Ste. 12, will celebrate its grand opening with free rides August 26-September 8, to give the Portland community an opportunity to become familiar with the CycleBar experience and various class formats. Additionally, they’re currently offering founder membership pricing specials.

The boutique fitness franchise offers the ultimate indoor cycling experience. With concierge-level service and premium amenities, CycleBar promises a completely immersive experience. Instructors known as CycleStars preside over three CycleBar core class formats – Classic, Connect, and Performance – which are designed to give riders of all fitness levels a unique and exhilarating experience. Using enhanced mood lighting and CycleBeats, proprietary CycleBar playlists that are sent to and can be downloaded by riders after class, CycleStars encourage riders to keep pedaling while performance data known as CycleStats can be monitored on massive flat screen TV’s located in the front of the CycleTheatre.

CycleBar of Portland is owned and operated by local mother daughter duo Julie Jordan Marchese and Paige Ferguson who will oversee a theater-style indoor cycling studio that holds up to 45 premium Schwinn bikes.

Marchese worked for her family’s third generation meat business - "Jordan’s Meats” as the executive vice president of foodservice sales before retiring and becoming involved with the Maine Cancer Foundation. The journey to the Maine Cancer Foundation was due to her mom being diagnosed with cancer and eventually herself. After finishing her first triathlon, Marchese founded Tri for a Cure, an annual women’s triathlon fundraiser for the Maine Cancer Foundation which has raised over 16 million over the last 12 years.  In this, Marchese found a love for cycling. Ferguson, who was living in Florida at the time, never enjoyed working out and was convinced by her mom to try a CycleBar class. Immediately, she fell in love with everything CycleBar had to offer. After moving back to her hometown in Portland, Ferguson couldn’t live without CycleBar and was looking for a way to pursue her passion. She decided to partner with her mom and open their own CycleBar location in Portland.

 “One class is all it took to change my life,” said Ferguson. “Being able to turn off the world and focus on your strengths during this 45-minute escape is so fulfilling and empowering. I feel like this is my calling and I’m so excited to give the Portland community the opportunity to experience CycleBar.”

The studio offers pay-per-class, class packs and auto-renewable memberships. Riders will enjoy complimentary shoe rental, filtered water, towels, showers and lockers.

“I’ve been cycling for almost 15 years and I love the upbeat music and environment CycleBar has to offer,” said Marchese. “The CycleStars take you on a journey to focus on yourself and that ride which leaves you feeling better and better every time.”
