Portland, ME -- On Wednesday, November 13, 2019 from 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM, the Portland Community Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a panel discussion on mass transit, during Eggs & Issues at the Holiday Inn By The Bay. The panel will be moderated by Kristina Egan of Greater Portland Council of Governments (GPCOG) and the panelists include Greg Jordan, General Manager/CEO of GPMetro, Patricia Quinn, Executive Director of NNEPRA, Alexander Green, Director of Planning and Regulatory Compliance at Maine Medical Center, and Peter Mills, Executive Director of the Maine Turnpike Authority.
As the Portland Region continues to grow, traffic congestion and limited transportation alternatives greatly impact our communities and businesses. Maine voters recently passed a $105 million transportation bond, to be matched by $137 million in federal funding. The bond package will go towards bridge and highway replacement and repair, as well as railroads, ports and aviation projects. With this bond in mind, the panelists will discuss mass transit solutions as well as the future of the highways and roads we currently rely on for transportation.
Tickets for Eggs & Issues are $20 for Chamber members, and $30 for non-members, and include breakfast and parking. The Chamber asks that attendees please register in advance if possible, at PortlandRegion.com.
