Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce’s young professionals group, PROPEL, names new Board President5/22/2019 Portland, Maine - The Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce announced Jillian Kanter, Marketing and Communications Specialist at Verrill Dana LLP, as the new PROPEL Board President. Kanter has been an active member of the PROPEL board for the past two years. Prior to joining Verrill Dana, Kanter worked at Broadreach Public Relations with a variety of clients in the professional services and non-profit industries. “Jillian is the kind of energetic and enterprising young professional that we want to keep attracting to Portland,” said Quincy Hentzel, Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce CEO. “We are thrilled that she is going to be leading PROPEL, as she brings a unique perspective to the board. PROPEL has done such an amazing job at attracting and engaging young professionals through its initiatives and events, and we’re so excited that Jillian will continue to move the organization forward.” Originally from Massachusetts, Kanter has chosen to call Maine home for six years and is passionate about promoting the state as more than a great place to vacation, but also somewhere where young professionals can come to build and grow their careers. “PROPEL has grown tremendously over the past few years, providing young professionals with an increasingly louder voice in the local business community,” said Kanter. “I am excited to take over at an important time in the state’s history. With the oldest population in the country and continued workforce challenges, now is the time to truly invest in Maine’s future leaders. This year [we] will bring more opportunities for young professionals to grow their connections in the community, develop professionally, and discover ways to get involved in local causes.” About PROPEL:
