Portland, ME, November 7, 2019 – The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has appointed an R.M. Davis executive to join the newly formed Asset Management Advisory Committee. Scot Draeger, President-Elect, Director of Wealth Management, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer for R. M. Davis is joining the Committee, which has been chartered by the U.S. Congress. The Committee is charged with providing independent counsel, advice and recommendations to the SEC on various aspects of the global securities and asset management industries. Established for an initial two-year term, the Committee’s roster includes more than 20 prominent asset management industry experts from throughout the country.
“I am humbled by the appointment. This is truly an honor for me, and for the firm,” noted Draeger, who has been with R.M. Davis since 2017. “I’m eager to work with this distinguished body of industry professionals on behalf of the SEC, the industry, and the investing public. Among other things, we’ll be looking at issues such as the effects of globalization and changes in the role of technology in the securities markets, as well as systemic risks and conflicts of interest in the industry. The Committee incorporates perspectives from a range of outside experts—I’m looking forward to our research and recommendations.” Prior to joining R.M. Davis, Draeger served for two decades in senior legal, business, and management roles at the U. S.
