CUMBERLAND, Maine – November 5, 2019 – Sevee & Maher Engineers (SME) is expanding its portfolio of services with the addition of Roy L. Dunn, a certified industrial hygienist (CIH), to its staff.
Dunn has over 24 years of experience in the industrial hygiene field, which focuses on the protection of health and safety in the workplace and community.

At SME, the CIH role supports the firm’s growing indoor air quality testing and remediation service team that evaluates safety and health issues in clients’ work environments, develops solutions, and implements corrective programs.

Dunn has expertise in leading technical support and oversight of large, complex projects such as hospital and community acquired infections, ventilation studies, indoor air quality investigations, engineering controls, employee OSHA chemical monitoring, and environmental forensics.

“Roy’s extensive qualifications bring to SME several new key capabilities to serve our industrial, commercial, and legal clients,” said President Erik M. Clapp, Ph.D.  “His experience also enhances SME’s existing range of services.”

Dunn has managed projects involving industrial hygiene and chemical surveys, project design, legionella sampling, OSHA safety surveys, asbestos and lead inspections, and mold inspections.

Most recently, Dunn was vice president and senior scientist with a major environmental services consulting firm, and for many years led his own environmental services business.

He is board certified in industrial hygiene, environmental infection control, and microbial consulting. Dunn is also an expert forensics industrial hygienist with extensive experience as an expert witness in litigation.
Dunn received a B.S. in Occupational Health and Safety from Montana Tech of the University of Montana.
